Evaluating mugs for print and packaging quality
Evaluate a POD mug by checking artwork, physical finish, care claims and the protection provided during shipping.
Before listing a mug, identify its material, capacity and decoration method, then inspect a physical sample and the packed order. For each exact product, confirm the print area, whether the design wraps or uses a single position, and whether gift boxing is available.

Check whether each mug option is ceramic, stainless steel or BPA-free plastic, and note its stated capacity. Material choice affects decoration options, freight weight and perceived value.
For ceramic mugs, compare dye sublimation with pad printing where both are offered. A multi-colour logo on a curved surface may need pad printing with spot colours rather than a full-colour digital wrap.
Ask which decoration method applies to the exact product: sublimation, screen printing, heat transfer, UV printing and engraving are methods used for custom mugs. Request the print-area dimensions and confirm whether wrap or single-position printing is standard.
Check whether text and important design elements stay within the printable area, and whether the design wraps or stops where the product details indicate. Examine a sample in ordinary light from several angles, including near the handle and rim, and check for visible flaws and print alignment.
Check dishwasher and microwave claims against the supplier's specifications for that particular mug. Do not infer those claims from ceramic material or from another mug in the catalogue.

Inspect the parcel, not only the mug
Check whether gift boxing is available and confirm it with the supplier before promising it in a listing. If you sell the mug as a gift, inspect the actual unboxing against the description.
Order the exact product to a representative address and record the outer box condition, cushioning, movement inside the pack and any breakage. One intact sample is evidence about that order, not a proven transit-damage rate.
Before listing, decide who receives damage reports and what proof is needed. State the customer remedy in line with the supplier's terms.
